The Public Safety Officer provides security for patients, employees, and visitors while protecting hospital buildings and assets. They are responsible for managing emergency or crisis situations and applying security procedures and enforcement codes.
Candidates should have at least one year of experience in law enforcement or private security and possess a valid California driver's license. A Guard Card issued by the State of California and current BLS certification through the AHA are required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be:
Education
Post high school vocation with specialized training is desirable.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in law enforcement or private security/contract agency desired.
Licensure/Certification
Possession of an appropriate valid California driver’s license.
Guard Card issued by the State of California
Current BLS through AHA
Employees must maintain a driving record, which meets the insurability requirements of Physicians for Healthy Hospitals, Inc.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Security systems, procedures and enforcement codes.

Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
