The Executive Underwriter manages the growth and profitability of Shared & Layered Retail Property accounts through strategic marketing and underwriting of complex risks. Responsibilities include maintaining brokerage relationships, negotiating policy terms, and analyzing insured financials and loss history.
Requires a degree in Business or equivalent and typically 5 or more years of progressive underwriting experience. A CPCU or professional insurance designation is preferred along with proven analytical ability to evaluate complex technical underwriting issues.
Our Executive Underwriter contributes to the growth and profitability of assigned Shared & Layered Retail Property accounts through marketing, underwriting and managing of products and services of complex risks. Risks may require special handling or unusual coverages. Requires specialized knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures and techniques to include coverage issues, product lines, marketing, relevant systems, and competition in the marketplace. Demonstrates strong strategic and marketing capabilities.
This is a hybrid office role in the posted office location. This role is being offered a Senior or Executive level Underwriter, based on experience.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
