The role:
The Search & Ad Ops Executive works with the performance and operations team to support the implementation, optimisation, monitoring, and reporting of paid search and digital advertising campaigns across a portfolio of client accounts. The role helps manage day-to-day campaign operations and contributes to achieving, maintaining, and exceeding client performance targets through effective execution, analysis, and continuous optimisation.
As a key support to the core Performance team, the Search & Ad Ops Executive plays an important role in ensuring a high attention to detail that ensures we maintain campaign accuracy, operational excellence, and platform best practice. Working collaboratively with client service, strategy, analytics, and media teams, the role assists in delivering measurable business outcomes and supporting the agency's reputation for performance-driven marketing.
The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical capability, platform and technology understanding, and a passion for digital marketing, data, and emerging advertising technologies.
Accountabilities:
Strategy/Clients:
Have a strong curiosity to continue to expand your knowledge of the search and digital advertising landscape, keeping up to date with platform developments, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best-practice approaches to drive client performance.
Develop a working knowledge of clients' industries, businesses, competitors, target audiences, and commercial objectives to ensure campaign activity aligns with business goals.
Contribute innovative ideas and platform opportunities that enhance campaign effectiveness, improve client outcomes, and demonstrate the agency's creativity and expertise.
Support client reporting and review processes by providing clear performance insights, actionable recommendations, and explanations of campaign results.
Work collaboratively with Performance, Client Service, Strategy, and Analytics teams to ensure recommendations and campaign activity are aligned with broader client and agency objectives.
People:
Collaborate effectively with Digital Planners, Performance Specialists, Client Service teams, cretive partners, and broader media specialists to deliver cohesive, integrated, and high-quality media execution for clients.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contributing positively to team culture and supporting the achievement of shared client and business objectives.
Actively participate in team meetings, planning sessions, campaign reviews, and knowledge-sharing forums, contributing ideas, insights, and best-practice recommendations.
Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, media partners, and client stakeholders, ensuring information is shared accurately and in a timely manner.
Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and development by participating in relevant training sessions, certifications, and industry development opportunities to strengthen paid search and broader digital marketing expertise.
Take ownership of personal performance and development goals, seeking feedback, embracing coaching opportunities, and continuously developing technical, analytical, and commercial capabilities.
The Work Performance:
Manage the end-to-end implementation, trafficking, monitoring, and optimisation of paid search campaigns to a high standard, ensuring campaigns are delivered accurately, on time, within budget, and aligned to client objectives.
Proactively review, analyse, and manage campaign data to identify optimisation opportunities, resolve issues, and maximise campaign performance against agreed KPIs and business outcomes.
Interpret campaign performance reports and data trends to provide meaningful analysis, actionable insights, and recommendations that improve campaign effectiveness and support client decision-making.
Prepare accurate and timely client reporting, including interim reports, campaign updates, end-of-campaign reviews, and post-analysis reporting, translating performance data into clear and compelling insights.
Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance and operational excellence by ensuring campaign builds, tracking, tagging, reporting, and platform configurations are accurate and compliant with agency standards and best practice.
Continuously seek and implement new ideas, tools, technologies, and platform innovations that improve campaign performance, drive efficiencies, and deliver enhanced value for clients and the agency.
Financials & Pipeline:
Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when entering campaign details, campaign costs, and related information into internal systems and technology platforms, supporting timely invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Manage paid search campaign budgets effectively, monitoring spending closely and making adjustments as required to minimise over-delivery, under-delivery, budget variances, and missed performance opportunities.
Monitor campaign pacing and financial performance throughout the campaign lifecycle, proactively identifying and escalating potential risks, discrepancies, or budget concerns to relevant stakeholders.
Support the delivery of campaign activity within agreed revenue, margin, and profitability targets by ensuring efficient budget allocation and effective campaign management practices.
Maintain accurate financial documentation, campaign records, purchase orders, and system updates to support agency governance, financial controls, auditing requirements, and reporting accuracy.
A bit about you:
Minimum 3 years' experience in paid search, performance marketing, ad operations, or digital media in a media agency environment
Hands-on experience managing search campaigns across major advertising platforms
Experience analysing campaign performance and delivering actionable insights
Experience managing campaign budgets and financial accountability
Experience with digital analytics, tracking, and reporting tools
Experience working in a client-facing or stakeholder management environment
Technical Skills:
Google Ads and/or Google Analytics certifications.
Experience with and using SA360, Google Ads, Campaign Manager 360, or other ad technology platforms.
Experience contributing to integrated digital media strategies across search, social, display, and video channels.
