At Trade Me our vision is to be the place where Kiwi look first.

Our Professional Sellers are one of the most commercially significant segments in Trade Me Marketplace. They drive a disproportionate share of value and buyer trust but we don't fully understand what they need from us to grow, stay and succeed. We need deep customer and commercial insight to know exactly where to focus, what to build and what a compelling ProSeller proposition looks like beyond 2027.

This 12 month fixed term role based in Auckland or Wellington leads discovery across our ProSeller base, defines that proposition and builds a customer and commercially grounded roadmap that runs alongside our platform evolution. 

If you think in terms of customer value propositions, commercial positioning and revenue impact, this role is perfect.

What you can expect:

  • Define the ProSeller proposition: Articulate Trade Me’s value proposition for ProSellers as a true growth partner. Define what success is and ensure we are their obvious choice
  • Discovery with commercial intent: Deeply understand ProSeller segments; their business models, workflows and unmet needs. Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to identify the biggest value gaps and growth opportunities
  • Build the commercial opportunity map: Link ProSeller friction directly to revenue risk, churn and growth potential. Size and prioritise these opportunities to build compelling investment cases
  • Customer and commercial roadmap: Own a 12 month roadmap of customer-facing improvements, sequenced alongside platform evolution to maximise commercial value as new capabilities unlock
  • Stakeholder influence: Champion ProSellers with leadership, Sales and Commercial teams. Translate customer insights into commercial narratives to build trust and drive decision-making
  • Outcome-focused measurement: Define success through ProSeller satisfaction, retention and revenue growth

What you will bring to our team:

  • Commercial acumen first: You think in customer value propositions and business outcomes. Identify product leverage points, build credible business cases and hold yourself accountable to value outcomes, not just shipped features
  • Proposition development experience: Proven experience shaping what a product or platform offers a specific customer segment. You’ve made deliberate choices about positioning, value and differentiation, rather than just optimising existing features
  • B2B or professional segment depth: Background working with business customers or power users. You understand their distinct commercial pressures and decision-making processes, recognising how they differ from consumer audiences
  • Ruthless prioritisation: Ability to navigate high ambiguity and real commercial stakes within a 12-month window. You make confident bets with incomplete information and stay focused on the highest-value work
  • Senior-level stakeholder credibility: Skilled at communicating trade-offs honestly and influencing leadership without authority
  • 5+ years in product management: Ideally in e-commerce, marketplace or B2B, with a track record of customer and commercially-led outcomes
