Role Overview
The Director of Mitigation oversees all mitigation operations, including but not limited to water, fire, mold, environmental, and emergency response, within the assigned market. This role manages daily field execution, supervises personnel, ensures accurate documentation, and maintains strong client communication. The Director of Mitigation drives production, marketing in-market, coordinates schedules, and ensures projects meet quality, safety, and profitability standards while supporting the Mitigation Market’s strategic goals.
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina with travel to Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham
Reports To: Mitigation Regional Director
Classification: Exempt
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Manage all active mitigation projects from emergency response through dry‑down and completion.
Direct daily field operations: extraction, demolition, containment, cleaning, equipment setup, monitoring, and environmental controls.
Ensure work aligns with approved scope, company standards, and IICRC best practices.
Maintain jobsite workflow, sequencing, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
Identify issues early and communicate scope changes or job condition updates.
Workforce Management
Supervise Technicians Chiefs, crew chiefs, and labor.
Assign daily tasks, monitor production, and maintain accountability.
Provide hands‑on guidance for demolition, drying strategies, containment setup, and jobsite standards.
Support hiring, onboarding, and training of field personnel.
Client Coordination
Serve as the operational point of contact for property managers, maintenance teams, residents, adjusters, and vendors.
Conduct walkthroughs, deliver progress updates, and communicate next steps.
Coordinate access, scheduling, materials, and logistics.
Address jobsite concerns and minor escalations promptly.
Documentation & Scope Control
Review moisture readings, daily reports, photos, equipment logs, and scope notes for accuracy.
Ensure field documentation supports estimating, billing, and closeout.
Communicate scope changes, additional damage, and project developments to estimating/admin teams.
Validate moisture mapping, drying plans, and field scope adjustments.
Equipment & Warehouse Coordination
Oversee readiness of mitigation equipment, vehicles, and materials.
Monitor equipment deployment and communicate shortages or service needs.
Ensure vehicles and equipment are organized, clean, and properly maintained.
Support warehouse organization and emergency mobilization readiness.
Weekend & After‑Hours Expectations
Available to work weekends; mitigation teams typically operate Saturdays.
Monitor phone after hours for schedule updates or urgent changes.
Review job updates every Sunday to prepare accurate Monday schedules.
Coordinate new losses and schedule updates with the Mitigation Market Director.
Respond promptly to operational changes to ensure teams are properly assigned.
Decision‑Making Authority
Daily technician and crew assignments and field task delegation.
Jobsite sequencing and operational adjustments.
Equipment placement and drying strategy recommendations.
