Full job description
Based at City Football Academy in Manchester, this permanent full-time role plays a central part in supporting the operations and administration of the Academy. You will help keep fixtures, travel, player information and wider phase activity running smoothly, enabling the team to deliver a high-quality experience for players, staff and families.
Who We Are
Manchester City is a football club rooted in East Manchester, with a story that began in 1880 and continues to grow today. Built on resilience, belief and togetherness, success on the pitch is driven by the moments and memories shared with millions of Fans around the world. Within our Academy Operations and Development team, we help create the conditions for players and staff to focus on football development. Our work brings together planning, organisation and service, supporting the smooth delivery of the Academy every day.

Your work will cover fixture preparation, travel and accommodation, tournament administration, meeting actions, calendar management and player records on Teamworks. You will also support reporting and presentation materials, helping the phase operations managers turn information into clear, useful updates, while contributing to Academy events and content such as the Men’s First Team Player Appearance Day.
Just as importantly, you will build trusted relationships across the Academy, working closely with staff, players and parents in a flexible and responsive way. This is a role for someone who enjoys varied operational work, takes pride in detail, and can adapt to changing priorities while helping the wider Academy achieve its goals.

⚽ Experience in a football academy or high-performance sport environment, with an understanding of the demands of working with young performers
⚽ Understanding of academy football, including relevant guidelines such as the Elite Player Performance Plan
⚽ Experience coordinating operational, logistical or administrative activity for fixtures, travel, events or a similar programme
⚽ Experience using Teamworks or a similar communication and operations platform to manage player and schedule information
⚽ Ability to build trusted working relationships with staff, players and parents and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
⚽ Ability to work flexibly, including irregular hours and domestic or international travel when required
Why Choose Us
Working at Manchester City means being supported to do your best, with the flexibility and encouragement to look after your wellbeing. We are committed to helping our people learn, grow and thrive in a culture built on collaboration, openness and hard work.
As part of our team, you will receive 26 days’ annual leave plus a day off for your birthday, private healthcare and dental cover, and an annual discretionary bonus. You will also have access to a Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 GP support, and a company pension and life assurance.
Manchester-based employees also benefit from free on-site parking, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and access to a range of sports and leisure clubs.
You can enjoy a range of additional benefits, including cycle to work, Give As You Earn, discounted match tickets, savings in the City Store, a free City+ subscription, stadium tour discounts, and wider retail and lifestyle offers.
