As an Assistant Warehouse Manager at Nisbets, you will play a key leadership role in driving day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring performance targets across service, productivity, cost, and quality are consistently achieved. You will work closely with the UK Warehouse General Manager to support the delivery of operational strategy while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

You will lead, coach, and develop supervisors and team leaders, embedding a high-performance culture focused on Health & Safety, customer, people engagement, performance and continuous improvement.
You will also play a key role in driving operational improvements, using data and insights to enhance efficiency and service delivery while supporting wider supply chain initiatives and business objectives.
This role will be based across our Avonmouth (Access 18) and Chepstow distribution centres, with flexibility required to support the wider warehouse network and operational demands, including peak trading periods.
Key Accountabilities
Support the UK Warehouse General Manager in delivering KPIs across service, productivity, cost, people and quality.
Oversee daily operations across inbound, picking, packing, and despatch functions.
Ensure operational plans are effectively executed to meet demand and seasonal peaks.
Lead, coach, and develop operational teams, building a high-performance culture.
Promote engagement, retention, and succession planning within the warehouse function.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company standards, promoting a safety-first culture.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Transport, and Customer teams to deliver excellent customer service.
Support budget management, cost control, and resource planning.
Use performance data and insights to inform decision-making and drive operational results.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in a senior warehouse management or distribution leadership role within a fast-paced retail or logistics environment.
Experience managing large teams across multiple sites.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, systems (WMS), planning models and performance metrics.
Experience in budget management, cost control, and operational planning.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire teams.
Excellent organisational and planning skills, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Analytical and data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement
