The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, and retains patient care volunteers across hospice, assisted living, and nursing home settings. They serve as the primary liaison between volunteers and clinical teams to ensure volunteers are matched to patient and family needs.
A high school diploma is required, while an associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. Candidates should ideally have at least two years of experience in volunteer coordination, healthcare support, or nonprofit operations.

The selected candidate with be skilled in volunteer training, database management, and outreach; connecting support to the needs of our community.
JOB SUMMARY
The Volunteer Coordinator – Patient Care is responsible for coordinating and supporting patient care volunteer services throughout HopeWest's hospice, assisted living, and nursing home settings. This position recruits, trains, assigns, develops, and retains patient care volunteers while ensuring volunteers are appropriately matched to patient and family needs. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison between volunteers and interdisciplinary clinical teams, promotes volunteer utilization throughout the organization, and supports exceptional patient, family, and volunteer experiences through effective communication, education, and relationship management. |
