It requires deep investment expertise, strong commercial judgement, and close collaboration with portfolio managers to help position, represent, and develop our capabilities.
In partnership with the PMs, the Portfolio Specialist acts as the strategic lead for the investment messaging across assigned strategies. The role is both investment-led and client facing, where the Portfolio Specialist coordinates the success of potential opportunities by working closely with a team of portfolio analysts, institutional writers, RFP editors and other associates, as well as playing a key role with the asset retention of existing clients and business development initiatives.
The role requires the ability to drive high-impact engagements with clients and prospects to better understand their specific needs and propose potential solutions around existing capabilities, and to translate insights into clear, compelling messages for clients, prospects, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
For this position, the Portfolio Specialist will initially lead the promotion of the US Mid-Cap Growth Equity strategy with an expectation of expanded small and mid-cap strategy coverage in due course. The strategies operate within T. Rowe Price Investment Management. It will require at the onset a commercial mindset and a willingness to educate our clients on our investment approach, to service a large book of investors, as well as being able to present our capabilities both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary US Mid-Cap Growth Equity portfolio specialist contributing to portfolio, market, performance, client, and product discussions.
Alongside the portfolio managers, own the strategy’s commercial and investment narrative, ensuring clear, consistent and compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
Build deep partnerships with portfolio managers to accurately represent their process, positioning, and investment views.
Act as an equity expert, articulating investment philosophy, process, portfolio positioning, performance, risk profile, competitive positioning, and investment relevance for clients.
Drive commercial growth through client engagement, prospecting, consultant support, marketing, and distribution partnership. Shape solutions, content, and positioning that connect investment insights to evolving client needs.
Lead effort with distribution on marketing and PR activities, as well as client events, related to US Mid-Cap Growth Equity.
Travel regularly in North America to support the investment team and distribution efforts.
The position location is preferably based in Baltimore.
