The Director of Utilization Management oversees the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the UM department to ensure appropriate service delivery and cost containment. They lead service initiatives, manage provider network communications, and analyze utilization trends to ensure compliance with state and federal mandates.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a mental health field and possess current Michigan licensure as an LLP, LMSW, LPC, or RN. A minimum of 3-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience in behavioral health or managed care settings is required.

The Director of Utilization Management (UM) is responsible for the strategic direction, continuous improvement, and oversight of the UM Department. This position will ensure individuals receive appropriate services in accordance with the assessment of need, and Individual Plan of Service, with consistent review of service utilization and cost reporting. The Director is involved in quality improvement efforts in compliance with all corporate policies, provider contracts, and state and federal legislative mandates and accountable for meeting organizational utilization, quality, access, and cost-containment goals. |
