The Janitor will be responsible for helping to maintain an attractive, clean, and comfortable environment to meet the needs of our residents.
Primary Responsibilites:
Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.
Maintains floors and carpets.
Picks up and removes trash.
Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Someone who can understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Has knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/solvents and demonstrated ability to work safely with them.
Can learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
Work as a team member in a structured working environment
Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Three to six months experience in housekeeping or custodial position preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
