SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbent has limited contact with lending staff and frequent contact with loan processing team and management. The incumbent will be required to review loans prior to final documents being delivered and to advise loan staff on changes because of the review. Incumbent must be able to utilize their expertise to effectively apply bank procedures and ensure loans are compliant with both Federal and State regulations. Incumbent will be required to coach and mentor loan processors and advise management on both positive and negative patterns being observed. Must exercise independent judgment and decision-making in routine situations. The ability to delay or stop a loan closing based on the findings of their review may be required. Assist with routine problems and resolve or refer to supervisor or other departments as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Review loan disclosures prior to being delivered to customers
Review documents needed for a complete loan package (credit report, flood, appraisal, title work, etc.).
Review each loan file to verify documents are present, accurate, and complete.
Ensure that loans are compliant with Federal and State law as well as with Bank policy.
Document errors or concerns and follow up with the processor to ensure file is compliant prior to closing
Alert processors and management when a file may not be compliant with State or Federal law and provide guidance with how to correct.
Adapt to change in the work environment, manage competing demands, and handle frequent changes.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent certification with 36 months of loan processing experience required.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and discuss complex loan scenarios.
Ability to work on deadlines with great attention to detail.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
The ability to think critically and find alternative solutions.
Must have a good understanding of applicable regulations, including but not limited to TRID, Reg. B, HMDA, Flood, QM/ATR
Must be familiar with Bank policies and procedures.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn loan processing software or other lending systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
