About this role
Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Analyst to join our Talent/HR Business Partner team. This role is ideal for a first- or second-year analyst who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and enjoys using data to drive insights and inform talent decisions. The successful candidate will partner closely with HR colleagues to support strategic initiatives, people analytics, and early careers programs while gaining broad exposure across the employee lifecycle.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in HR, consulting, strategy, COO, banking analyst programs, or technology who are interested in talent-focused work. Prior HR experience is valued but not required; intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in talent and people-related topics are critical to success. Given the sensitive nature of the compensation, performance, and talent data involved, the role requires sound judgment, discretion, and a consistently high standard of confidentiality.
Preferred Background
Experience in HR, consulting, strategy, finance, technology, or another fast-paced, high-intensity, analytical environment; HR experience is a plus, not a requirement
Background in an analyst program, PE/Infrastructure firm, compensation, people analytics, or another data-driven role
Interest in a HR Business Partner or Talent Management career path
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and synthesize HR data across hiring, attrition, promotions, performance, compensation, and carried interest to support decision-making
Handle highly confidential and sensitive information — including compensation, carried interest, performance, and promotion data with discretion, exercising sound judgment on what to share, with whom, and when
Contribute to cross-functional HR Business Partner and Talent projects, adopting communications tyle and recommendations for different audiences
Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders on analytics, reporting, and executive materials, leveraging Excel, Workday and other tools
Develop presentations, executive summaries, and materials for senior leadership, including HR strategy updates, operating model reviews, and leadership meetings
Support Workday reporting and ensure data accuracy and consistency across talent processes
Assist with early careers programs, including onboarding, learning, engagement, and performance tracking and program logistics for interns and analysts
Support the execution of key annual talent processes, including objective setting, performance reviews, promotions, internal mobility, and succession planning
Partner directly with employees to coordinate and communicate talent initiatives and processes
Identify talent trends and translate data into actionable recommendations
Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and execution quality
Continuously improve HR processes, reporting, and team effectiveness
Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis, streamline workflows
Collaborate with BlackRock HR teams to accomplish outcomes
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in HR, consulting, strategy, investment banking, compensation, people analytics, or a similarly analytical environment
Interest in talent management, early careers, workforce planning, employee development, and broader HR topics
Demonstrated strength in quantitative analysis, Excel, and manipulating large datasets to generate insights
Strong presentation skills with experience creating executive-ready PowerPoint materials and synthesizing complex information into concise recommendations
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, complex processes, and a high-intensity, fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across stakeholders
Highly detail-oriented, resilient, intellectually curious, and motivated to understand the broader business context
Experience with Workday or other HR systems is a plus but not required
Strong critical thinking and judgment, with the ability to validate information, synthesize insights, and make practical recommendations
Proven discretion and mature judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information, with an understanding of the trust and responsibility the role carries
Demonstrated curiosity and comfort using AI-enabled tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) to enhance analysis, streamline workflows, and improve work quality

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$85,000.00 - USD$105,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our benefits
To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. We remain focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when we work together in person – aligned with our commitment to performance and innovation. As a new joiner, you can count on this hybrid model to accelerate your learning and onboarding experience here at BlackRock.
Guidance on AI use for candidates
At BlackRock, AI has long been part of how we work – enhancing decision-making, improving operations, and helping us deliver better outcomes for clients. We encourage candidates to use AI thoughtfully to learn, prepare, and work more effectively; but during our interview process, we want to focus on getting to know you through your own experiences, thinking, and judgment. To support you, we’ve provided guidance on when and how to use AI during our hiring process so you can approach each step with confidence and showcase your best self.
