We are deeply committed to community involvement, financial education, and creating a workplace where individuals can build meaningful, long‑term careers.
Rockland Trust is currently seeking a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Loan Officer to build and manage relationships with real estate investors, developers, and owners across the community. This individual will source, structure, and manage commercial real estate lending opportunities, with a focus on growing a high-quality CRE portfolio by delivering tailored financing solutions to both new and existing clients.
The role serves as a trusted advisor to clients, with a deep understanding of real estate markets, property types, and investment strategies. The CRE Loan Officer will deliver value through expertise in structuring transactions, analyzing real estate cash flow and collateral, and aligning financing solutions with clients’ acquisition, development, and refinancing goals.
Rockland Trust provides a highly supportive platform, including a strong branch network, competitive products and pricing, and experienced credit and operational teams to help you successfully originate and manage CRE relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new CRE business opportunities through proactive prospecting, developer and broker relationships, and active participation in real estate and industry organizations.
Originate, structure, and service a variety of commercial real estate loans, including income-producing properties, construction financing, owner-occupied real estate, and investment portfolios.
Analyze property cash flows, rent rolls, operating statements, and market conditions to assess credit risk and structure appropriate financing solutions.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for CRE clients, maintaining regular contact and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities, including treasury services, deposits, and wealth management solutions.
Structure loan terms, pricing, and covenants aligned with risk, collateral, and market standards.
Partner with Portfolio Managers to monitor portfolio performance, ensure timely financial reporting, and maintain accurate risk ratings.
Monitor construction projects (where applicable), including budgets, timelines, and draws.
Stay informed on real estate market trends, property valuations, and economic conditions to anticipate client needs and identify new opportunities.
Present loan opportunities and recommendations to credit approval committees within lending authority.
Ensure compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and loan documentation standards.
Represent Rockland Trust within the real estate community and local markets.
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience, with a strong emphasis on commercial real estate lending and demonstrated success originating and closing CRE transactions.
Strong credit skills, including analysis of property-level financials and borrower capacity.
Experience with a variety of property types (e.g., multifamily, office, industrial, retail, and construction).
Formal credit training highly preferred.
Established network of real estate professionals (developers, brokers, attorneys, CPAs, etc.).
Strong financial analysis, structuring, and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations specific to CRE lending.
Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship management skills.
Benefits & Culture
Our goal is to offer our colleagues the most generous benefits package possible. We provide a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your health, financial security, and overall, well‑being. Benefits include: competitive compensation with performance‑based incentive awards, health and dental insurance, a 401(k) and DC retirement plan, LTD and life insurance, paid vacation, day care reimbursement, tuition assistance for undergraduate and graduate programs, an award‑winning wellness program, and much more!
At Rockland Trust, you’ll find a respectful and inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
