While a degree is not strictly required, at least five years of relevant environmental or public health experience is expected.

About the Department of Natural Resources (DNR):
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources protects, enhances, preserves, and wisely uses natural, cultural, and recreational resources for the benefit of Indiana's citizens through professional leadership, management, and education. The Division of Water collects, maintains, and provides water resource information. This includes administering surface and groundwater resource assessments, alleviating flood disaster damages, regulating floodplain areas, reviewing dam and levee projects, and educating the community about water efforts and conservation.
Role Overview:
Incumbent acts as program coordinator and manages the Significant Water Withdrawal Facility (SWWF) registration and water use reporting program and maintains the digital database for all registration and water use data which is used to assist with Water Rights investigations, groundwater studies, environmental site assessments, and developing wellhead protection plans. This role performs advanced technical work and provides support by collecting, maintaining, interpreting, and disseminating hydrological data used to assess water resource availability, water use, and water management issues.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
