The role is responsible for strengthening Faculty operational practices to ensure compliance and improve business outcomes across Schools. It involves designing sustainable processes, monitoring corrective actions, and providing leadership with visibility into compliance performance.
Candidates need a relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in project management or governance within higher education or complex environments. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement are essential.
The Manager, Faculty Capability & Improvement is responsible for strengthening Faculty operational practices, so they support compliance obligations, improve consistency and enable effective business outcomes. The role focuses on translating compliance expectations into practical processes, controls and ways of working that can be embedded across Schools and Faculty operations.
Working collaboratively with Heads of School, School Managers, Faculty leadership and central functional teams, the role identifies process gaps, compliance risks and opportunities for improvement, and supports the design and implementation of sustainable solutions. The role helps Schools and Faculty teams meet their responsibilities by establishing clear governance routines, practical guidance, consistent monitoring and effective issue resolution processes.
This position provides a Faculty-level view of process performance, risks, improvement actions and implementation progress, ensuring leaders have clear visibility of issues requiring attention. It complements central audit and assurance functions by focusing on local process improvement, operational readiness, corrective action tracking and embedding better ways of working across the Faculty.
While initially focused on pay confidence and employment compliance obligations, working closely with the Quality and Compliance partners, the role will support emerging Faculty compliance priorities as required,
including the review, assurance and continuous improvement of operational practices across a broad range of compliance frameworks.
