Job Overview
The Associate, Marketplace Seller Onboarding ensures a smooth onboarding experience for new sellers on the e-commerce marketplace platform. They manage a specific category, overseeing the successful onboarding of sellers and supporting offshore teams working within that category. This role involves guiding sellers through registration, setup, and optimization to prepare them for success on the platform. The Associate also provides ongoing support and training to help sellers maximize their sales potential.
What You Will Do
Guide new sellers through the entire onboarding process, from account setup to listing products on the platform.
Manage the onboarding success of sellers within your category, optimizing the process and driving improvements for both your sellers and those supported by agents.
Provide sellers with training and resources on best practices, product listing optimization, and policy compliance.
Assist sellers in setting up payment methods, configuring shipping options, and using platform tools.
Help sellers enhance product listings by ensuring accuracy, relevance, and high-quality content for better visibility and sales.
Address and resolve any issues sellers face during onboarding, offering technical support as needed.
Keep accurate records of seller onboarding progress and provide regular updates to the onboarding team and management.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., business development, seller success, marketplace operations, site merchandising) to ensure sellers and their products are set up for success after onboarding.
Gather feedback from sellers to improve the onboarding experience and suggest platform enhancements.
Build strong relationships with sellers to boost engagement, retention, and long-term success on the platform.
Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
Skills You Will Need
E-commerce Knowledge: Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and seller operations, including account setup, product listings, and sales optimization.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to explain complex information clearly and build strong relationships with sellers to drive engagement and retention.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple sellers, categories, and projects simultaneously, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
Problem-Solving: A customer-first mindset with the ability to identify and resolve onboarding issues, ensuring a seamless seller experience.
Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in tools such as Excel, CRM systems like Salesforce, and other e-commerce software, along with experience in configuring payments, shipping, and platform tools.
Training & Support: Ability to provide sellers with ongoing training on platform best practices, product listing optimization, and policy compliance.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, working closely with internal teams (e.g., business development, seller success) to ensure the seller's success beyond onboarding.
Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail for ensuring accurate product listings and maintaining precise records of seller onboarding progress.
Adaptability: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, able to adapt to changing priorities and processes.
Who You Are
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 3+ years of experience in e-commerce platforms and seller operations.
This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
