Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
Works on roofs, multi-level structures, scaffolds and/or ladders.
Maintains a clean jobsite, picks up all tools and equipment and secures tools on job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Performs material handling and storage.
Loads and unloads material from trucks, manually hauls and/or hoists materials.
Ensure that work is performed in a safe manner.
Ensures that work is performed in a safe manner.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Reports problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.
Performs manual work in preparing surfaces.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be physically fit.
Must pass pre-hire screenings.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to travel between, to and from jobsites.
Will be required to wear PPE to include hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, gloves, and work boots.
Work Environment
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions to include heat, humidity, dust, cold, and at times inclement weather. The noise level in the jobsite environment is usually loud. Must be comfortable and able to work in unpleasant and hazardous environments.
Physical Demand This position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous activities under adverse field conditions. Climb ladders and climb into equipment, work on scaffolds, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. This employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms to signal, grab, pull, push, carry, or turn objects, materials, or tools. Sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Use hands to operate equipment and to use tools. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, adjust focus.
