Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Perform routine monitoring, sample analysis, and general facility maintenance including equipment troubleshooting and customer service calls.
Requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and some mechanical work experience. TCEQ Water and Wastewater Class D certifications are preferred.

The Texas Water Utiltieis team is seeking a Water-wastewater Operator in Training. The Water/Wastewater Operator performs routine checks of water and/or wastewater treatment systems; responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules/regulations. Assist in all areas of operations, maintenance, and customer service as needed for all facility systems within the company. Collects samples and performs routine monitoring and testing of water and wastewater, collects samples for testing, including effluent samples, flows, and settable solids. Assists with general maintenance duties at facilities; washes down thickener, digester basin, and walkway; washes down aeration basin wall and walkway; checks and washes down bar screen and strainer; cleans clarifiers; dumps and cleans scum basin; operation of belt press. Certifications required for the job must be obtained within the specified period of time.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will travel between service areas near Pflugerville, TX. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required. Must be available to work shift work; weekend scheduling may be required.
