JOB OBJECTIVE
The Industrial Carpenter Helper will be responsible for helping carpenters with the installation and repair of structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. The Carpenter Helper will be involved in a variety of tasks ranging from measuring and cutting materials, to sanding and assembling wooden components. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of carpentry tools and techniques, be able to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
Must have 1-2+ years of experience working as a Carpenter Helper
Must have experience working with carpentry, concrete, and rebar.
Must identify all tools required for tasks.
Must be able to identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate them.
Must assist in the measurement, marking, and cutting of wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
Must assist in the construction, re-enforcement, and dismantling of pre-constructed concrete forms.
Must assist in building and constructing wooden forms.
Assist on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks and steps, bulletin boards, and any additional wooden structures.
Clean-up/housekeeping of work areas.
Must have a valid Driver's License.
Must pass drug and background check.
KNOWLEDGE
Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
Must be able to computer basic arithmetic functions.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
Assist carpenters in measuring and cutting materials according to specifications.
Help in the installation of wooden frames, roof trusses, and wallboards.
Operate hand and power tools such as saws, hammers, drills, and sanders.
Prepare and clean-up work areas, including removing debris and storing tools.
Mix and apply adhesives, fillers, and caulks to seal joints and gaps in structures.
Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks and work areas.
Assist in maintaining tools and equipment in good working conditions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee will be required to adhere to enormous amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
Will talk and hear to communicate.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/ scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
