Manage the NCCER and OSHA 10 certification processes for students while providing hands-on construction instruction. Develop pacing guides and coordinate with school teams to ensure students gain the technical and employability skills needed for the construction sector.
Requires the ability to secure an Ohio Department of Education vocational teacher license and exceptional craft skills in construction. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction-related field and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred.
Description
The Construction Instructor will manage the NCCER Certification process of students in the construction pathway. The Construction Instructor will adhere to all requirements for training for industry recognized credentials including OSHA 10, and NCCER Core (Introduction to the Construction Trades). This individual agrees to maintain records and provide all documentation required by each credentialing entity. Furthermore, the Construction Instructor will ensure that each student receives their certification by appropriately registering, filing, and submitting all steps necessary to complete the certification process. The Construction Instructor will also provide appropriate modeling and instruction of employability / soft skills necessary to attain and retain employment in the construction sector. They will also ensure effective communication as a member of the school team.

This job is performed in craft classroom / laboratory environment but will, ideally, extend to an in-field learning opportunity.
The usual and customary methods of performing the functions required in a construction / craft learning environment which include the following physical capabilities: lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, operating machine, hand tools and power tools.
