The Optometric Technician performs initial diagnostic testing using various optical equipment to prepare patients for exams. They are responsible for delivering a high-quality patient experience and maintaining clinical equipment cleanliness.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for previous medical or ophthalmic office experience. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in customer or patient interaction.

SUMMARY
An Optometric Technician is a valuable asset to an optometrist as they assist in providing a world class Total Patient Experience. This team member is able to handle a wide range of duties while using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist.
