The Medical Assistant serves as the first point of contact for patients, performing both clinical duties and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include gathering patient information, taking vital signs, administering injections, and maintaining examination rooms.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and completion of an MA program or 5+ years of experience. Phlebotomy experience and proficiency in English and Spanish are preferred.
The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties. These duties include discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system. They also take vital signs, give injections, and perform diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Medical Assistant collects specimens, draws blood, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
You will report onsite to the Clinic Administrator at Conviva Zarzamora located at: 100 S Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX 78207.
If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
