The Patient Care Aide provides direct nursing care to patients, including meeting their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs under the direction of an RN or LPN. They also assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be obtained before the conclusion of the orientation period.

Non-Licensed Clinical Ladder:
Huntsville Hospital non-licensed clinical ladder rewards dedicated patient care aides who meet defined criteria. The program looks at the years of employment, and professional and leadership development.
