The Duty Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, primarily after business hours. This includes monitoring building automation systems, conducting mechanical room rounds, and assisting with seasonal heating and cooling changeovers.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, and basic knowledge of HVAC and boiler equipment. Preferred qualifications include a valid driver's license and the ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.

Department Summary: Come join the Drake Facilities team! We are seeking a competent, trustworthy and reliable person to serve as a Duty Engineer. This is an entry level HVAC position with continuous on-the-job training and opportunities for growth and development. |

Job Summary: The Duty Engineer will troubleshoot, diagnose, make minor repairs and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, generally after regular business hours. Working under minimal supervision, this position will answer and address duty calls from Public Safety, perform regular rounds of building mechanical rooms, investigate potential issues, adjust building automation system which serves HVAC equipment, inspects and performs regular preventative maintenance across campus. This position will also assist with the seasonal changeover from cooling to heating and vice versa. The duty engineer will provide excellent customer service and follow all safety, department, and university policies. |
