Whether you are an experienced respiratory or endoscopy nurse seeking a new challenge, or a skilled Registered Nurse eager to expand into these specialties, we welcome your application. You will have access to ongoing education, career development pathways and the resources of Australia's only fully integrated academic health sciences centre.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in Respiratory and Endoscopy, you will play a central role in delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality care to patients undergoing respiratory assessments, interventions and endoscopic procedures. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a range of respiratory conditions, including assessment, monitoring, treatment and education.
Preparing, assisting and recovering patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, ensuring safety, comfort and dignity throughout the patient journey.
Conducting thorough patient assessments, developing individualised care plans and evaluating patient outcomes in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Administering medications, including procedural sedation, in accordance with hospital protocols and best practice guidelines.
Maintaining competency in the use and management of specialised respiratory and endoscopy equipment, ensuring correct setup, troubleshooting and post-procedure care.
Providing patient and family education regarding respiratory management, post-procedure care and self-management strategies.
Accurately documenting all aspects of patient care, observations and clinical interventions in line with organisational and professional standards.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Contributing to a positive and supportive team culture, mentoring junior staff and students, and actively participating in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Adhering to infection prevention and control standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and all relevant clinical policies and procedures.
