The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available in the School of Engineering at Macquarie University. We are seeking a qualified Research Associate to join a team with an international reputation for producing high-quality, industry-relevant research in the area of advanced solar energy devices.
We are looking for a passionate and accomplished researcher with a strong track record in developing high-quality nanomaterials and high-efficiency solar energy devices.
The successful candidate will join established projects funded by the Australian Government, focusing on the development of a pilot prototype for eco-friendly manufacturing. The project will involve optimising green and non-toxic nanomaterial formulations, as well as materials and device fabrication processes, to achieve high power conversion efficiency. The role will also include supervising junior researchers within the photovoltaics group in the School of Engineering.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Set up a scalable synthesis and fabrication facility for non-toxic nanomaterials and devices
Implementation of green production in highly light emitting nanomaterials and solar cells fabrication

Essential Criteria
A PhD in photovoltaic engineering or a closely related discipline,
Strong research experience in light emitting nanomaterials synthesis and solar energy harvesting devices as demonstrated by high-quality publications or patents,
Expertise in nanomaterial characterisation (both optical and electrical) as demonstrated by high-quality publications or patents,
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills,
Ability to implement required health and safety policies and procedures, and
A track record of working with industry partners.
