The Steelmaker will participate in the full production process, including steel rolling, shipping, and manual handling tasks. You will also be responsible for operating machinery such as cranes and forklifts while adhering to strict safety standards.
Candidates should have previous trades or labouring experience and a strong work ethic. Basic computer literacy is required to learn HMI operation, along with a willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts.

We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative Steelmaker to join our supportive team at the Rooty Hill Steel Mill. You’ll be part of a large, experienced Rolling crew and report directly to the Shift Leader or Logistics Leader.
Our Steel Mill operates 24/7, and this role involves 12-hour shifts on a rotating 7-day roster (day and night shifts).
This is a 12-month contract position—an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build confidence, learn new skills, and gain valuable experience in the steel industry.
