Full job description
Solutions Consultant
Growth / Full Time / Remote
Company Overview
Canvas Medical is accelerating everyday medicine with an EMR platform built for healthcare automation. We create modern, elegant front- and back-end tooling to enable new ways for developers and clinicians to integrate data, automate workflows, and collaborate to solve healthcare's toughest challenges. In doing so we advance our mission to give care teams superpowers with software.
Canvas is institutionally backed by some of the greatest technology investors in the world (funded notable health tech companies such as GoodRx, Oscar Health, and Hims & Hers Health).
Role Description
We're hiring a Solutions Consultant to join our Growth team and bridge the gap between customer needs and platform capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of customer empathy, sales strategy, and technical execution, helping providers and care teams see the real value of Canvas Medical's EMR by transforming their workflows into working solutions during the sales process.
As a Solutions Consultant, you'll engage directly with prospects, customers, and internal stakeholders to identify the workflows that matter most to their operations. You'll translate these insights into end-to-end solution proposals and build MVP versions of those solutions using Canvas's customization tools, so prospects can see their future workflows running on the platform before they sign. You'll also develop and deploy agents alongside prospective customers as part of the sales process, putting working automation directly into their hands. Your primary building method will be AI and agent-assisted development, using tools like Claude Code to move from discovery to working plugin quickly.
The ideal candidate brings deep curiosity about healthcare technology and genuine comfort with AI-assisted development. You don't need formal software development experience, though it's certainly preferred. What matters is that you're comfortable with AI tooling, excited about applying new tools as they emerge, and eager to see how agent-assisted development evolves. You'll thrive in ambiguity, move quickly during active sales cycles, and collaborate closely with both sales and technical teams.
Responsibilities
Customer Discovery & Solution Design
Engage directly with prospects, customers, and internal partners to identify the clinical and operational workflows that drive their business
Translate workflow insights into clear, end-to-end solution proposals that show prospects exactly how Canvas will work for them
Balance what a prospect needs today with what will scale as they grow
Document learnings and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing to elevate team effectiveness
Technical Prototyping & Platform Development
Build MVP versions of proposed solutions as Canvas plugins using agent-assisted development tools such as Claude Code
Develop and deploy agents with prospective customers during the sales process, turning proposed workflows into live automation they can evaluate firsthand
Demonstrate working prototypes during the sales process, showing fluency in event-driven design, handlers, and effects
Iterate rapidly on prototypes based on prospect feedback during active sales cycles
Create and maintain reusable solution patterns and playbooks that accelerate future engagements
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery
Collaborate across sales, customer success, implementation, engineering, and product teams to align on proposals, handoffs, and feedback loops
Bridge business and technical contexts to move deals forward effectively
Surface and track quality signals (proposal-to-close flow, prototype adoption, prospect feedback) to inform iteration
Shadow senior team members while progressively owning lower-complexity engagements independently
Qualifications
Required Experience & Background
Recent graduate or early-career candidate in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Engineering, UX, Applied Data, or related discipline
Comfort and hands-on experience with AI and agent-assisted development tools, in particular Claude Code and similar tools
Deep interest in healthcare technology and EMR systems with desire to improve provider and patient workflows
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in ambiguous environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to distill complex contexts into crisp proposals
Technical Skills & Capabilities
Experience building with AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows; no formal software development experience required, though it's preferred
Comfort learning and working with modern SDKs, APIs, and plugin-based architectures
Willingness to ramp into concepts like event-driven design, handlers, and effects
Ability to identify leverage points and reusable solution patterns
Healthcare & Domain Expertise
Understanding of healthcare delivery challenges and provider workflow pain points
Interest in healthcare automation and improving clinical operations through software
Ability to engage with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders
Personal Attributes
Collaborative by default and thrives working across growth and technical teams
Growth mindset with rapid learning velocity
Productive tension management and comfort wrestling with trade-offs
Comfortable with AI and excited about applying new tools and watching how they develop, while respecting real-world constraints
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Formal software development experience or coursework (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
Exposure to building or working with SDKs, frontend/backend integrations, or plugin architectures
Familiarity with healthcare data workflows, standards, or provider-facing tooling
Experience drafting solution proposals, specs, or mockups for technical systems
Prior customer-facing experience in a technical capacity (internships, support, technical project work)
What Success Looks Like at 90 Days
Own parts of the solution lifecycle, from writing proposals to delivering plugin-based MVPs independently
Successfully translate 3-5 prospect engagements into end-to-end solution proposals with working prototypes, including at least one agent deployed with a prospective customer
Build a repeatable agent-assisted development workflow that shortens the path from discovery to demo
Build strong working relationships across growth, sales, and engineering teams
Growth Path
In your first 6-12 months, you'll begin owning significant portions of the solution lifecycle, from workflow discovery through proposal and MVP delivery. High performers evolve into senior solution consultants who lead small pods, shape pre-sales delivery strategies, and expand what agent-assisted development can do on the Canvas platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence how Canvas wins customers and how quickly prospects see their workflows come to life.
