DESCRIPTION
Duties: Lead technical projects for Highbridge business from project inception through successful closure. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Design comprehensive technical solutions and system architectures to meet business objectives. Translate functional business requirements into robust technical designs and system specifications. Lead implementation efforts including coding, system integration, and deployment activities. Ensure adherence to software development best practices and coding standards. Manage and maintain the firm's Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. Implement infrastructure changes, updates, and optimizations. Monitor cloud resource utilization and implement cost optimization strategies. Work with multiple external vendors and their systems for integration with Highbridge Technology platform. Design and implement API integrations and data exchange protocols. Coordinate technical requirements and specifications with vendor teams. Lead testing phases including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing. Develop test plans and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Coordinate rollout activities and deployment procedures. Provide day-to-day technical support for systems managed by the team. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments. Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems and processes. Develop support procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure knowledge transfer and documentation standards compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Technology Management, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: developing enterprise-level applications using Java programming language, including object-oriented programming principles, multithreading, exception handling, and Java 8+ features such as lambda expressions and streams; building responsive web applications using ReactJS framework, including component lifecycle management, state management, hooks, and modern JavaScript features; working with JavaScript for client-side and server-side development, and TypeScript for type-safe application development, including features such as generics, interfaces, or decorators; working with Python for automation, data processing, and application development, including using Python libraries and frameworks; writing PowerShell scripts for system administration, automation tasks, and infrastructure management; working with Spring Boot for microservices development and Spring MVC for web application architecture, including dependency injection, aspect-oriented programming, and RESTful API development; working with Hibernate for Java persistence and MyBatis for SQL mapping framework, including database transaction management and query optimization; implementing user interfaces using Material UI React components, including theming, customization, and responsive design principles; developing ETL and batch processing using tools including Autosys and Spring Batch; working with Relational Database such as Oracle and SQL Server, including database configuration, backup strategies, and performance tuning; working with data platforms for data warehousing, analytics, and data pipeline development; Working with Terraform-driven infrastructure to provision and manage virtual servers and auto-scaling, and with Kubernetes for container orchestration and microservices deployment across on-premises and cloud environments, implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform for server lifecycle management and scaling, alongside Kubernetes-based orchestration for containerized microservices, resource management, and infrastructure version control; working with Jenkins for build automation for continuous delivery pipelines; working with IntelliJ IDEA for Java development and VS Code for multi-language development, including plugin management and debugging capabilities; working with vendor products such as GitHub, Gitlab or Bitbucket for source code management, including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and code review processes; working with Confluence for technical documentation and knowledge management, and JIRA for agile project tracking and issue management, automated testing framework such as Cypress for integration testing, and development productivity enhancement; working in Agile development environments, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and iterative development cycles; working with Scrum methodology including user story creation, backlog management, and cross-functional team collaboration; utilizing SDLC phases including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance; integrating multiple technology stacks and platforms in complex financial services environments; and working with application performance tuning, database optimization, and cloud resource management.
