The Pharmacy Technician III provides comprehensive pharmacy services, including sterile and chemotherapy compounding, in a complex healthcare environment. They act as a subject matter expert in advanced technical areas and coordinate medication delivery to various clinical sites.
Requires a high school diploma, one year of pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare setting, and six months of sterile compounding experience. Candidates must be eligible for MN State Board of Pharmacy registration and obtain national certification within 12 months.

This position will be part of a diverse team, working in a newly renovated space, making, and delivering, medications to patients throughout the hospital. The Pharmacy Technician will help provide care to patients at all stages of life, from the tiniest of babies, patients recovering from surgery to patients being treated with cutting- edge chemo therapies; YOU will be involved in their care. This position will provide room to grow, with the opportunity to advance to four technician levels and beyond, to roles in supervision, procurement, business coordination, and quality.

Location: UMMC West Bank, located in Minneapolis, MN
Hours: 80 hours bi-weekly
Shift: day/evening, no weekends
Under the direction of the Pharmacist, this position will be responsible for day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy technician services in a complex healthcare environment. This may include dose dispensing technology and sterile medication compounding, and chemotherapy medication compounding. The Pharmacy Technician III will work in advanced technical areas, such as satellite operating room and intensive care unit, as well as be efficient in tech check tech and code response practices.
The Pharmacy Technician III will function as a subject matter expert in at least two sophisticated technical areas and can strategically use interpersonal, customer service, decision-making, and collaboration skills, to support and influence operational objectives.
