Overview
As a Maintenance Technician/Houseperson, you will help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. This role is responsible for performing preventative, routine, emergency, and general maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, furniture and fixture repair, and refrigeration, while maintaining the interior and exterior of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and grounds. In addition, you will ensure public spaces remain clean and well-presented, support the housekeeping team as needed, and provide prompt, courteous service during daily guest interactions to deliver an exceptional hospitality experience.
Responsibilities
Houseperson/Maintenance Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Inspects all operating systems and components of the hotel to ensure they are operating properly, efficiently and safely
Promptly responds to front desk reports of guest problems or concerns, informs the front desk when action is complete
Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, or makes recommendations for repairs, as assigned: all mechanical/electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing systems, all building components and furniture, fixtures and equipment
Performs the schedule on a timely basis, ensuring that all elements of work the meet resort standards
Performs painting, carpentry, plumbing, emergency carpet cleaning and other jobs as necessary
Support Housekeeping Room Attendants by delivering additional supplies, removing trash and linens, moving furniture, running calls and assisting with heavy cleaning tasks as required.
Clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel, including hallways, stairwells, windows, lobbies, elevators, and other communal spaces.
Clean guest rooms as needed.
Keeps linen stocked and organized on carts and shelves & delivers per guest requests to proper rooms.
Reports all lost and found items in compliance to company policy.
Maintains all storage areas, shops and mechanical areas in a clean, safe and secure manner, reporting to the Chief Engineer any corrective actions that need to be taken
Keeps Chief Engineer promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance so that prompt corrective action can be taken
Provide sanitation duties as needed, such as taking out trash to designated area
Perform all job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
Weekend availability
Ability to work various shifts between the hours of 7am and 11pm
Must have prior experience in maintenance/trades including in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting
Strong customer service skills with a passion for helping others
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
Knowledge of hotel operations is a plus
A friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with guests
Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
Teamwork and collaboration
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers and supervisors

The Mutiny Hotel is known for its “Boutique” atmosphere, deluxe accommodations and personalized, first-class service.
