The Mechanical Designer is responsible for planning and designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various structures. This includes developing CAD drawings, maintaining project files, and creating complex layouts from technical specifications.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least three years of experience in mechanical engineering drafting and design support. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and a strong background in HVAC are required.
As part of a design team, the Mechanical Designer will be responsible for planning and designing of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems to be used in construction of various structures, systems, or equipment. This position is based in AVCON's Orlando, Florida office.

ENVIRONMENT
Work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting. Site visits may occasionally take place in an outdoor environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
TOOL/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
As dictated by client site protocol, candidate will be required to utilize proper personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, sleeves, leather protectors, hard hats, safety glasses and shields, safety shoes, covers, and helmets/hoods.
