The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal products. This includes operating press brakes, plate rolls, and shears, as well as performing MIG welding in tight confined spaces.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. Proficiency in MIG welding and the ability to read assembly prints and perform basic math are required.

The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembly, install, and repair of sheet metal products and equipment. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. You will be welding in very tight confined spaces, i.e.: inside a small tank.
Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
Very Heavy Work: Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel. The facility is not air conditioned.
