Full job description
Dephy is looking for a candidate who was born to be an engineer: someone who has an urge to understand how things work, and who gets excited when there is no known solution to the problem at hand. We are curious, creative, and passionate engineers looking for a team member to help us tackle challenges at the forefront of wearable robotics. Come help us transition mobility exoskeletons from labs and treadmills to the real world: cities, trails, and mountains.
About the Company

This Associate Manufacturing Engineering role lives in the Manufacturing organization at Dephy, reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing. This Dephyer can expect to interface with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, and our technician team in various capacities. This detail-oriented candidate can expect to be hands-on building Dephy products and following, editing, and writing processes. They are responsible for repairing units returned from the field, collecting data on failure causes (RCA) and suggesting and implementing DFM/DFA or QA preventative measures. What you’ll do:
Build and troubleshoot Dephy products by following existing Work Instructions
Follow and refine processes that ensure all customer products meet our internal performance, quality, and reliability goals
Drive measurable reliability improvements through detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other forms of failure analysis, driving effective resolution of design, product, and/or manufacturing issues.
Maintain process documentation, including Work Instructions, FMEAs, RCAs, audit preparation materials, and quality records.
Efficiently organize units for field returns, collecting, analyzing, and sharing failure trends cross-functionally to drive down repair costs.
Execute performance reliability testing, including design of experiments (DOE), design and build of test fixtures, and any other supplemental testing equipment
General Manufacturing duties such as building products, production floor and inventory management, and order fulfillment

Strong cross-functional communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications
Experience utilizing test setups & fixtures for quality, validation, or reliability testing

Experience with data analysis tools (ex. JMP, Minitab, etc.)
Exposure to Design of Experiments (DOE)
Hands-on Assessment
As part of the interview process, you’ll be asked to examine one of our robotic systems and complete a few practical exercises, including mechanical tasks and a basic electrical test on our Production Floor with our Head of Manufacturing.
You will be asked to use a multimeter (DMM) to measure the resistance of components, complete a mechanical inspection, perform electromechanical troubleshooting by setting up a test and following work instructions, and complete a subassembly according to work instructions, including the correct use of a torque screwdriver.
