As an Impairment Benefits Specialist in our Hearing Loss team, you’ll be responsible for proactively managing, assessing, and determining impairment benefit claims. You’ll navigate the requirements of the Accident Compensation Act 1985, the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013, and WorkSafe guidelines, including the Online Claims Manual.
You’ll also manage disputes related to impairment benefits and ensure all actions are completed within legislative, policy, and performance timeframes. This role calls for strong attention to detail, confident decision-making, and a focus on achieving fair and timely outcomes for injured workers.
This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage impairment benefit claims from start to finish, including liability assessments, ACCS attendance (when required), drafting medical panel submissions, arranging Independent Impairment Assessor reports, calculating entitlements, making determinations, reviewing responses, and processing payments.
