About the Sleep Laboratory
The Sleep Laboratory is a large clinical laboratory service performing a comprehensive range of diagnostic patient testing, and treatment implementation and optimisation services. The laboratory plays a cornerstone role in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and has links to the wider hospital service as well as having links to other clinical services and academic institutions. It provides services to the state-wide Victorian Respiratory Support Service for patients with respiratory failure and has a proud association with the Institute for Breathing and Sleep.
About the role
We have an opportunity for a Sleep Scientist (Grade 1 or 2) to join our team at Austin Health, where you will work with a team of professionals who are passionate about providing evidence-based care to improve the quality of sleep in our patients. This is a fixed term, parental leave cover position and will include evening and night shifts.
A regular day will see you:
Setting-up patients for overnight sleep studies
Conducting overnight sleep studies
Maintaining laboratory equipment
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
