The manager will build and maintain relationships with STEM-focused companies to facilitate campus placements, internships, and apprenticeships. They are also responsible for preparing students for the workforce through career support, skill gap identification, and employability training.
The role requires 1-3 years of relevant work experience in placement or career services. Candidates should possess strong networking skills and the ability to align student profiles with industry requirements.
Build and maintain relationships with STEM-focused companies (IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, AI, Data, Electronics, etc.)
Identify job opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, and live projects
Organize campus placements, job fairs, and employer connects
Understand industry skill requirements and align student profiles accordingly
Prepare students for placements through:
Resume & LinkedIn profile building
Interview preparation (technical + HR)
Mock interviews and aptitude tests
Match student skills with suitable job roles
Track student preferences, performance, and placement outcomes
Coordinate with academic and training teams to:
Identify skill gaps in students
Suggest industry-relevant certifications and tools
Organize soft skills, communication, and workplace readiness programs
Ensure students meet employer eligibility criteria
Develop and execute annual placement plans and targets
Set KPIs for placements, employer onboarding, and student readiness
Analyze placement trends and market demand in STEM sectors
Support leadership with placement reports and insights
Facilitate paid/unpaid internships and apprenticeship programs
Monitor student performance during internships
Convert internships into full-time employment opportunities
Maintain accurate records of:
Student profiles
Employer partnerships
Placement offers and joining status
Prepare reports for:
Management
Funding agencies
Government or CSR partners (if applicable)
Ensure placement activities comply with:
Institutional policies
Government skill-development guidelines
Coordinate with:
Faculty
Program managers
Alumni
External partners
Build a strong alumni network
Leverage alumni for:

NIIT Foundation (NF) is a not-for-profit education society set up by the promoters of NIIT in 2004. It's mission is to positively impact the underprivileged of the country through educational initiatives and employability skill development programs. To achieve this, NF runs various grassroots initiatives in partnership with other corporates. We set up skill development centres in urban and rural areas that offer placement support to all eligible students. We provide digital and financial literacy programs. We also install Hole-in-the-Wall Learning Stations to bridge the digital divide. In addition, NF supports other NGOs to build their capacity. NF has been delivering projects ranging from customized CSR solutions as per partner requirements, school programs, college collaborations, community initiatives and digital empowerment, which are mandated as per Section 135 of companies act 2013. The projects reach out to a wide range of beneficiaries from the age group of 6 to 60 years olds.
