The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Science & Nutrition, you'll play a critical role in strengthening Noumi's research capability by translating university research into practical, commercially viable solutions that improve product quality, reduce technical risk and accelerate innovation.
Working closely with our Science, Nutrition and New Product Development (NPD) teams, you'll apply scientific insight to optimise formulations, support AI-enabled recipe development and establish advanced analytical capabilities that enhance product performance.
Translate university research into commercially relevant product innovations.
Lead scientific investigations and root cause analysis of product performance issues, including stability and foaming.
Develop science-based formulation recommendations to support successful product development.
Optimise and maintain AI and machine learning-enabled recipe development platforms.
Establish and embed analytical capabilities including Turbiscan and Gas Chromatography (GC).
Interpret analytical data to guide formulation improvements and technical decision-making.
What you’ll bring
A PhD (or near completion) in Food Science or a related discipline.
Experience translating academic research into commercial applications.
Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as Turbiscan, Gas Chromatography (GC) and particle size analysis.
Experience working with machine learning or data-driven formulation platforms.
Strong knowledge of food science, product stability and root cause analysis.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across research, R&D and university partners.
