The Parts Technician is responsible for managing inventory stock levels, performing audits, and ensuring parts are available for truck and trailer technicians. They also provide administrative support, maintain information systems, and ensure compliance with safety and warranty retention procedures.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and 12 to 18 months of relevant experience. The role requires the physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and the flexibility to work outdoors or across various shifts including nights and weekends.
Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair
Observe all Company safety requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Mentor and train other shop personnel
Ensure compliance of safety policies
Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards
Retain and ship parts per the Company’s Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures
Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records and filing
Maintain JBHT information systems in regards to parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage
Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment in order to determine usability and replacement of non-functional equipment
Conduct Cycle Counts and periodic inventories as required
Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered and free of damage; stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems
Shift Schedule: Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
