POSITION OVERVIEW
St. Catherine’s School seeks a qualified, experienced, and motivated Theater Building Manager. This position is integral to the use of the Love Jennison Family Theatre in Endeavour Hall with core responsibilities relating to the overall building maintenance and coordination of School production and vendor rental events.
The Theater Building Manager oversees all safety, scheduling, technical training, and daily operations in the production facilities in Endeavour Hall. The position requires significant background in theater building environments. A safety focus is absolute and will be required to approach all aspects of the job to ensure the successful operation and management of the building’s production venues. The Theater Building Manager serves as the main point of contact for School events defined as “critical” in Endeavour Hall. Candidates should have an interest in being part of a community that strives to create access, equity, and belonging for all.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Temporary oversight of seasonal production staff
Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 12-month schedule
Hours of Work: Standard work week
Expected Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL
Manage production activity and oversee technical aspects of all events within production spaces in Endeavour Hall.
Manage facility budgets for production related equipment.
Operate (as needed) and supervise the operation of technical systems during department productions and events determined to be school critical.
School Critical events include high profile speakers, presentations, and assemblies that are core components of the school’s programming.
Maintain venue schedules and manage all events in the venue requiring technical support.
Coordinate needs for additional labor in consultation with the COO and/or Director of Auxiliary programming, depending on the nature of the event.
Manage setup and changeover of all events.
Create clear structures of communication and accountability including, but not limited to, approval of designs, work completion, and coordination of the production shops in alliance with the educational mission of the School.
Assist Director of the Arts with scheduling and planning for Performing Arts Production seasons and School events in Endeavour Hall venues.
Maintain all theatrical and production workspaces, theatrical systems and equipment.
Keep current inventory of all theatrical and shop equipment, replenishing goods as needed, and advising on repairs and upgrades to venues and equipment.
Train department and division representatives on the use of production equipment for meetings, talks, presentations, club events, and other non-major/non-critical productions.
Annually, as possible, attend conferences aimed at Theatre Technology and Safety.
SAFETY
Establish, implement, and enforce all safety and training protocols for all involved parties in accordance with theater, equipment, industry and manufacturer use and safety standards.
Coordinate appropriate training in facility operations and safety protocols for faculty and staff who teach/supervise students or utilize spaces and/or equipment in Endeavour Hall.
Establish specific written safety protocols, completion, and documentation of successful completion of said requirements as well as records maintenance of student and adult training before use of any equipment.
Maintain training and certification for equipment and facilities.
Ensure that all production related spaces and technical equipment adhere to St. Catherine’s standards and OSHA safety regulations
Coordinate with the Director of Security and Training for compliance based training and inspections, including Fire Marshall.
Coordinate security needs with the Director of Security and Training.
SUMMER CAMP PRODUCTIONS
Serve as the Production Manager for summer productions and apply duties under GENERAL and SAFETY as appropriate
RENTALS
Coordinate with the Director of Auxiliary Programming and COO on venue rentals.
Coordinate and manage technical needs with rental groups.
Train and supervise rental production staff.

The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in theater/building management.
Expertise and demonstrated proficiency in production-related health and safety best practices and ability to identify, correct, and prevent potential hazards.
Posses a reasonable comfort level with computer technology, including Microsoft Office, Google based business applications and basic networking.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and dynamically with faculty, staff, students, parents, community members and other professionals representing diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
