Perform routine and complex inspections of materials, processes, and safety to ensure contractor compliance with plans and specifications. Document inspection results, conduct field measurements for pay items, and manage work zone traffic and erosion control.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of inspection experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. NCDOT certifications in materials testing and familiarity with their construction procedures are preferred.
RK&K is hiring experienced Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Wilmington, NC. As a Construction Inspector with RK&K you will perform complex and routine inspections on materials, processes, safety, and documentation to ensure construction contractors conform to plans, specifications, and special provisions.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20–30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
