The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for soliciting new residential mortgage business and developing relationships with realtors and community groups to identify lending opportunities. They must also ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while guiding clients through the loan application and approval process.
Candidates must have at least two years of mortgage lending experience and a high school diploma, with a bachelor's degree preferred. Proficiency in automated underwriting technology, FHA/VA guidelines, and strong interpersonal communication skills are required.

The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) / CRA Development Officer proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and identifies, develops, and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. An MLO’s network may consist of real estate professionals, builders, professional and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources. The MLO ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, complying with all federal and state compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements. It is the policy of ServisFirst Bank to comply with the interagency rules implementing the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008, generally known as the SAFE Act. All employees meeting the definition of MLO must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).
Additionally, this position is responsible for developing relationships with realtors, community development groups, and others that actively work in low to moderate income areas. The officer will proactively market ServisFirst programs to these referral sources and potential borrowers.
