Your focus will be providing support in originating, structuring, executing and delivering tailored solutions across a broad range of products, services and markets. You will work with high-quality corporate clients, developing a diversified portfolio, while being supported by an experienced high growth team with opportunities for future career expansion over time with the global HSBC network.
Your main responsibilities will include assisting the Relationship Managers to:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients in the corporate and institutional banking sector.
Working closely with the Relationship Manager to originate revenue opportunities, initiate and finalise client plans, prepare pricing submissions, deal pipelining, call reports, and client service team communications. Essentially, identifying client needs, scoping, cross-selling and coordinating origination across the HSBC product suite and geographies.
Maintaining dialogue with allocated clients, awareness of client needs and issues within the broader relationship.
Developing and maintaining an understanding of our clients’ industries and associated markets, including both local and global dynamics, in order to inform strategic decision making, client conversations and enhance problem solving.
Analysing financial statements and company cashflows to identify and mitigate risk and identify opportunities.
An innovative approach to client solutions and origination, acting as a pitch-book lead, mobilising stakeholders and internal subject matter experts and playing a role in meetings/discussions.
Ensuring strong adherence to credit policies, monitoring of clients, financial crime and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on a collaborative speak up risk culture, with sound governance and controls.
Coordinating with the team’s dedicated Relationship Service Manager and Business Credit Office to ensure administrative, credit and legal documentation tasks are completed effectively.
A focus on driving internal regional and global connectivity.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven ability to successfully work with corporate and institutional customers and their varying banking requirements.
Solid experience in a corporate / institutional finance setting with a fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties.
Strong familiarity with APLMA loan documentation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists and credit risk personnel.
High levels of self-motivation, commitment and a desire to succeed.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
A natural focus on providing superior customer service with a genuine desire to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
Experience and understanding of risk and compliance culture in a regulated banking environment.
A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines - related post graduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold New Zealand Citizenship/PR or Australian Citizenship, or who can show they currently have unrestricted work rights in New Zealand without limitations.
