Full job description
Who we are:
At Preferred Travel Group, we champion the power of travel to inspire meaningful connections and enrich lives around the world. As a global family of brands and programs representing the finest independent hotels and resorts, we are united by a shared belief in authenticity, collaboration, and the value of independent spirit. Our culture reflects our ideology in action: people first, relationships at the center, and a commitment to creating lasting impact for our partners, our global community, and one another. When you join Preferred, you become part of a purpose-driven organization where ideas are welcomed, growth is encouraged, and your work contributes to shaping the future of travel.
Why this role matters:
We are hiring a commercially driven distribution strategist who thrives on building partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and maximizing revenue performance across the global travel distribution landscape.
As Director, 3rd Party Distribution, you will own relationships with key third-party distributors—including wholesalers, bed banks, online travel agencies, and other travel partners—to expand distribution opportunities for our member hotels while driving revenue growth for Preferred Travel Group. Success in this role comes from sourcing, contracting and growing production with new and existing accounts, working with the distribution team to document and streamline booking requirements, engaging with the Leisure Sales team to support new distribution needs for existing customers and providing insight and education on changes to this landscape.
What you’ll deliver:
Monitor production of existing accounts and provide regular updates
Research and identify strategic opportunities (accounts) to bring to member hotels as new incremental booking channels and/or through efficiencies and cost savings
Follow up and pursue potential distribution opportunities identified by the Hotels, Hotel Revenue Optimization Directors, or the Commercial Team
Streamline existing accounts to reduce duplicity, improve efficiency and increase revenue
During annual budget planning, identify accounts and revenue potential through acquisition in the following year
Maintain active sales plans on key accounts as directed by SVP, Revenue & Distribution and SVP, Leisure Sales via action plans, sales activity report, sales calls, key distribution events & meetings
Maintain detailed and timely records of prospect and managed accounts
Work with Leisure Sales to provide distribution directions for new and existing accounts; provide alternate solutions or processes for accounts with limited opportunity (i.e., local, regional accounts)
Review hotel distribution and engage hotels towards strategic changes to improve efficiency and production in coordination with the global Hotel Revenue Management team.
Coordinate the rate loading process with the Distribution team to ensure timely, efficient and accurate set up.
Assist SVP, Revenue Optimization & Distribution and Chief Commercial Officer in strategic direction for commercial requirements of third-party distribution, including but not limited to commission, revenue share and hotel transaction fees.
Work towards and manage boilerplate requirements for standardization in agreements, including rate parity, inventory allocation, revenue share and data protection.
Monitor and administer rate parity monitoring across accounts and brand website, including communication to and compliance adoption by violating member hotels. Coordinate internal communication on rate parity across hotels, identify and implement solutions to improve performance.
What you’ll bring to the team:
Sales Experience, including history of working with leisure accounts
Revenue Management or hotel reservations experience
Excellent relationship building skills and customer service orientation.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Hotel, travel, or hospitality industry experience or education preferred.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
The ideal candidate would demonstrate a proven track record of optimizing multi-million dollar revenue pipelines across global OTAs and wholesaler networks while maintaining strict rate parity. They should also possess the ability to understand optimal terms in third party distribution contracts and the strategic foresight to leverage emerging AI-driven distribution technologies to lower acquisition costs and maximize net RevPAR.
Where you’ll thrive:
A fast-moving, multi-team environment where coordination, organisation, and attention to detail are critical.
Bringing order and efficiency to complex schedules, communications, and workflows.
Building strong relationships and acting as a reliable connector across teams and stakeholders.
Enabling leaders and teams to operate effectively through proactive, high-quality support and follow-through.
Our Working Culture:
With our in-office philosophy, our associates are expected to be in the office at least three days per week, supporting a healthy balance between in-person collaboration and flexible remote work. We take pride in our vibrant and inclusive culture, which thrives on meaningful connection, shared purpose, and cross-functional teamwork. In-office engagement plays a vital role in fostering spontaneous collaboration, accelerating innovation, and strengthening relationships across teams. It also provides valuable opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and a deeper sense of community.
Please note: While the current expectation is a minimum of three days per week in the office, this may evolve over time in alignment with business needs and our continued commitment to culture-building
Disclaimer: This description reflects the general nature and level of the role. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities or requirements.
Salary:
$130,000 - $150,000, actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise.
