The technician performs blood drawing procedures and EKG testing on inpatients while maintaining accurate records in the EHR and LIS. They are responsible for prioritizing tasks, troubleshooting equipment, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED along with a recognized phlebotomy training program completion or one year of experience. Certification from a nationally accredited organization is preferred.
SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Phlebotomy EKG Technician to join our team. This part time role will work 56 hours within a two week pay period on days, including rotating weekends and holidays, including last minute overtime into next shift (evenings) as needed. Weekday schedule is 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM while weekends fluctuate between 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM OR 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Purpose of this position: Under general supervision, performs work which involves collecting laboratory specimens and/or performing EKG testing on inpatients. Enters data into the electronic health record (EHR) and/or the laboratory information system (LIS). Interacts and communicates with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team by using various communication tools in a timely and professional manner
