Full job description
Coordinates patient care activity on the phone and in the office and clinic, providing necessary support to the physician within established guidelines. Patient care activities within scope of nursing practice will include but are not limited to patient assessment, medication management, collaboration with healthcare providers, patient education, procedural management, and other duties as assigned.
In addition to RN duties, this individual will provide quality patient care by building screening programs for aortic disease (e.g. aneurysm, aortic valve repair/replacement, Ross procedure) and pulmonary thromboendarterectomy patients. Work closely with physicians to identify initial qualifications for the programs. Identify patients within our population who meet the program criteria, sent out letters, schedule pre-visit testing, and conduct after care with patients. Catalog the entire process from an academic standpoint. Works cooperatively within own department and with other services to create a system of quality health care delivery. Demonstrates positive and effective working relationships with all health care team members.

Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
Administers medications and intravenous solutions safely and correctly.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution Current Maryland licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure Excellent customer service and communication skills Two to three years clinical experience preferred * CPR certification is required
