Full job description
Quality Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking
an experienced Quality Analyst to design and execute test collateral across
integration, API, backend, and GUI levels. This role is focused on manual
testing — applying strong test process knowledge and technique rather than
automation scripting — to ensure changes are verified thoroughly and risk is
managed effectively across complex, multi-system environments.
The successful
candidate will bring hands-on experience with API testing, integration testing,
and modern platform tooling, along with a solid understanding of working within
government organisations and their associated processes and governance
requirements.
Key Responsibilities
•Design, develop, and execute
test cases, test scripts, and test collateral to verify changes at the
integration, API, backend, and GUI levels.
•Apply appropriate test
techniques and processes to ensure comprehensive coverage and risk-based test
prioritisation.
•Conduct API testing using
Postman, including request/response validation, data verification, and error
handling.
•Manage test cases, execution,
and defects using Tricentis qTest.
•Support integration testing
across multiple interconnected systems and platforms.
•Contribute to contract testing
activities where applicable, ensuring service interfaces meet agreed
specifications.
•Collaborate with development,
business analysis, and delivery teams to understand requirements and translate
them into effective test coverage.
•Identify, log, and track
defects through to resolution, ensuring clear and accurate documentation.
•Provide status reporting and
quality metrics to project and delivery stakeholders.
•Work within government
processes, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance and audit
readiness.
Essential Skills & Experience
•3+ years' experience in integration testing.
•Working knowledge of
Tricentis qTest.
•Working knowledge of Postman for API testing.
•Strong understanding of API
testing techniques and approaches.
•Experience working within
government organisations.
•Experience with AWS,
including Lambda.
•Demonstrated ability to design
test collateral covering integration, API, backend, and GUI levels.
•Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
•Excellent communication skills,
with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
Desirable Skills & Experience
•Experience with Tricentis
Tosca.
•Knowledge of contract testing
techniques.
•Experience with Kafka or other
streaming platforms.
•Familiarity with Kong (API
gateway) and Akamai.
Additional Requirements
•Available to commence within 4
weeks.
•Able to provide creditable,
verifiable references.
