Remote in Chicago, Illinois, United States
Responsibilities
The Lead Analyst will manage the technology division's P&L, KPI reporting, and capacity planning while driving strategic initiatives like platform modernization. They will also lead the team's adoption of AI tooling and act as a bridge between engineering, Finance, HR, and PMO.
Requirements
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in strategy, BizOps, FP&A, or management consulting with strong financial modeling and data analysis skills. The role requires a track record of influencing decisions without direct authority and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Location: Chicago, California, New York, Washington
Division: Ticketmaster NA
Line Manager:Senior Director - Technology Strategy
Contract Terms: Full Time
THE TEAM
The Technology Strategy, Planning & Risk team sits at the center of how Ticketmaster’s engineering organization makes decisions. We’re a team of roughly ten people embedded within tech, and our job is to make sure the right investments get made, the right problems get prioritized, and the rest of the business understands what tech is doing and why it matters. We partner closely with Finance, HR, and senior tech leadership to turn complex operational realities into clear strategic direction.
This is a team that rewards curiosity. If you’re the kind of person who can’t look at a number without wondering what’s driving it, you’ll fit in.
THE JOB
We’re looking for a Lead Analyst who can operate at the intersection of financial rigor and strategic thinking — someone who’s equally comfortable building a capacity model and presenting its implications to a Senior Director or engineering lead.
Day to day, you’ll support the tech division P&L, manage KPI and OKR tracking for our CTO’s monthly reporting, and lead capacity planning across engineering teams. But the more interesting work is what sits underneath that: diagnosing why a division is off-plan, modeling the trade-offs of a platform modernization, or figuring out how to structure a team differently to unlock more value.
Over the next year, a meaningful part of this role will be helping drive our team’s adoption of AI — identifying the right tooling, building the internal case for it, and working across stakeholders to make it stick. That’s not a side project; it’s a priority.
You’ll report to a Senior Director and work across a wide range of stakeholders — engineering leads, Finance, HR, and PMO. You won’t always be the loudest voice in the room, but your analysis will shape what decisions get made.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Support tech division P&L management and monthly KPI reporting for the CTO — keeping it accurate, relevant, and actionable
Support and sometimes lead strategic initiatives: platform modernization, resourcing models, outsourcing analysis, market environment assessments
Drive our team’s adoption of AI tooling and help build the internal frameworks to evaluate and implement it
Play a central role in the annual budget cycle and quarterly planning process
Build stronger working relationships between SP&R and Finance, HR, and PMO — acting as a consistent, credible point of contact
Translate technical priorities into business language and business strategy into terms engineering teams can act on
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
5+ years in strategy, BizOps, FP&A, or management consulting — ideally with meaningful exposure to a technology organization
Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills; advanced Excel is a given
Experience with capacity planning or resource allocation in a scaled environment
A track record of influencing decisions without direct authority
Genuine comfort with ambiguity — this team moves fast and the problems don’t always come pre-defined
Clear, confident communication across audiences; you can write a tight exec summary and then go explain the same thing to an engineering lead
Interest in how AI is changing the way strategy and planning teams operate — curiosity counts here even if direct experience is limited
YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS)
This isn’t a pure reporting role, and it isn’t a role where analysis sits in a deck and waits to be acted on. The work has real stakes and real visibility. If you want a defined lane, this probably isn’t it. If you want to build something and see it matter, it might be exactly right.
