Tax Manager | Senior Manager (High-Net-Worth Tax)

Position Summary:
MGO is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join our growing High Net Worth (HNW) Tax Practice in Century City. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who possesses deep expertise serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, entrepreneurs, and closely held business owners.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to sophisticated clients, providing strategic tax planning, compliance oversight, and consultative guidance while leading engagement teams and helping drive practice growth.
What You'll Do:
Lead and review complex tax engagements for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
Manage the preparation and review of High-Net-Worth-Individual (HNWI), Pass-Through entities, Trust, Estate, Gift tax returns.
Provide proactive tax planning and consulting related to wealth preservation, estate and gift tax strategies, business succession planning, and income tax optimization.
Advise clients with complex investment portfolios, real estate holdings, private business interests, and multi-generational wealth structures.
Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax matters and assist with tax authority examinations and notices.
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring exceptional service, quality, and timely delivery.
Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship manager for clients and their external advisors.
Mentor, coach, and develop managers, seniors, and staff members.
Partner with firm leadership on client growth, business development, and practice expansion initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
CPA license required.
5+ years of public accounting experience with significant High Net Worth tax expertise.
Strong technical knowledge of individual, trust, estate, gift, partnership, and pass-through entity taxation.
Experience serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, closely held businesses, and multi-generational family groups.
Proven leadership, client relationship management, and project management skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
Must be located in the Los Angeles area to support in-office collaboration and client meetings.
Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.
